Drop in a PDF and we add a page number to the bottom-center of every page, starting at 1 and counting up in order. No settings to configure — this is the one-click version of a task that otherwise means opening a full desktop PDF editor just to add "Page 3 of 12" to the bottom of a document.

Everything runs locally in your browser using pdf-lib — your file is processed entirely on your device and never uploaded anywhere. Pick a PDF, click process, and download the numbered copy in seconds.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the position or starting number?

This tool uses one fixed style: numbers start at 1 and are centered at the bottom of every page. There are no extra settings — it’s built to be the fastest way to get a plain, consistent page-number stamp.

Does this work on password-protected PDFs?

No. Remove the password first with our Unlock PDF tool, then add page numbers.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. Page numbers are drawn entirely in your browser using pdf-lib — your file is never uploaded. Works on files up to 50MB and 300 pages on desktop (25MB / 150 pages on mobile).

Do I need an account to use this?

No. There is no sign-up, no login, and no email required — every tool on PDF Hater is completely free. Open the page, drop your file, download the result. That’s the whole flow.
