Convert WAV to MP3

WAV files are uncompressed, which means great quality but huge file sizes — a few minutes of audio can easily be tens of megabytes. This tool encodes your WAV recording into a much smaller MP3, perfect for emailing, uploading, or just not filling up your phone with voice memos and recordings.
The encoding happens entirely inside your browser tab using WebAssembly. Your original WAV file is never uploaded — it stays on your device the whole time, and the MP3 comes straight back to you.

Frequently asked questions
Is my WAV file uploaded to convert it?
No. The whole conversion runs locally in your browser using WebAssembly — your file never leaves your device, and there is no server step involved at any point.
How much smaller will the MP3 be?
Typically 5–10× smaller than the original WAV, depending on the source. We encode at a high variable bitrate (~190kbps) so the audio still sounds essentially the same for normal listening.
What size can I convert, and does my browser matter?
Up to 300MB on desktop (100MB on mobile), with no duration limit since only audio is processed. Any modern browser with WebAssembly support works fine.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no account, and no email required for any tool on this site — just pick your file and convert.
